I was walking past the pub which is next door to my office yesterday on my way home and I noticed that there were three customers outside on the pavement smoking. Inside the pub, it was completely empty - there was not even a barman on duty. Perhaps he was one of the three people outside smoking. I am not a smoker myself but it does seem stupid to me that smokers have to stand outside in the cold weather- especially when the pub is empty.
Surely the legislation should provide that there are some places indoors where smokers could enjoy a smoke? Presumably we could allow certain pubs could register it as smoking establishments where they don't serve food?

Nice one Basil, don’t hear many none smokers sticking up for us smokers. But I must say, my wife and I have taken to smoking outside at home for our daughter’s health and to get some privacy. Doesn’t work, as our daughter follows us outside, but I know it does me the world of good, as I don’t have to decorate every year anymore |
